Ooh, reading the report by Sarah Bailey of Sarah’s Cooker-ebook made me want to make some of these again, they are such tasty little meatballs.  I love Sarah’s photos (all at the bottom of the post), and having them with roasted cauliflower and a tomato sauce is an idea I might pinch!

Sarah’s feedback about the recipe is really useful and I’m going to incorporate some of her comments into the Cooking With Columbo cookbook.  This, my lovely readers is ALMOST FINISHED.  I’m making some corrections suggested by the wonderful Greg at Recipes For Rebels, and then adding in all the test cook comments.  I have set a publication date for the 20th February 2018 which is the 50th anniversary of the first episode being screened.  Gosh, seeing that in writing makes me panic a bit.

I’ve just been reading on Sarah’s Facebook page about her appearance on “The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice” – Sarah’s cake was part of “illusion week” – I’m not sure how long this episode is available to view – I’ve just watched it and it’s brilliant!  Get in quick.

Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice

Here’s a pick of Sarah’s cake – it’s a cake that looks like a Shepherd’s Pie!  I loved the chit chat on the show, Sarah made everyone laugh when Jo Brand asked what the peas that are inside the sponge part were made out of  and Sarah said: “Peas”!

What a clever, clever cake – I bet it tasted good too.

If you would like to test something for the Columbo Cookbook it’s not too late!  I’m going to be updating the list in the next few days and putting out a final call for help in a blog post this week.  Talk about last minute!

Thanks for helping out Sarah!
