I can’t believe that I’ve been writing this blog for 12 years – goodness me.  So much has changed in that time.  When I began I was a broken-hearted singleton living on a houseboat on the Thames.

My tabletop cooker had to be turned on with a pair of pliers…

Now I am a landlubber and engaged – oh yes, I have a fiancé my dears, I am betrothed!

I’ve written 2 cookbooks in those 12 years too

and learned how to bake bread

and make mustard with my nephew’s beer.

To celebrate 12 years, I’ve had a think about my 12 favourite movie star recipes.  Here we go.

Best for a weekday dinner with friends – Elizabeth Taylor’s Chicken Steamed in White Wine`

Best side dish ever – Vincent Price’s Mexican Creamed Corn

Most fun weekend din dins – David Bowie’s Shabu-Shabu

Best cake – Irene Dunne’s Vinegar Chocolate Cake

Best fish recipe – Sophia Loren’s Fished Baked in Beef Stock

Best canapé – Joan Crawford’s Salami Sandwiches

Best extravagant recipe – Ross Martin’s Beef in Anchovy Cream

Best breakfast recipe – Natalie Wood’s Huevos Rancheros

Best soup – Bette Davis’ Split Pea Soup

Weirdest recipe – William Holden’s Lime Gelatine with Carrots, Olives and Nuts

Most sinful recipe – Hal Linden’s Mustard Cheese Loaf

Best Christmas recipe – Corinne Griffith’s Edna’s Christmas Pudding

When my blog was 10 years old, I chose my favourite FIFTY recipes so if you want to see more, have a look at this blog post…

…and if you are interested in my very first blog post you can check it out here…

Wasn’t I feeling sorry for myself?!

Even though I started writing the blog on the 14th May, I didn’t actually start cooking until the 21st May.  I may cook the very first recipe I made again this weekend to celebrate 12 years.  So look out for Bette Davis’ Boston Baked Beans, if I can find any fat salt pork…

Thanks to the folks at Chowhound for this fab pic of Bette and a beanpot!
