Diana Dors’ Artichoke Bean Bowl – My Top 100 Movie Star Recipes #97

This recipe comes as part of a pair with David Niven’s Jansson’s Temptation really. Because whenever I buy delicious marinated anchovies from Ocado to make my #98 dish in the top 100 movie star recipes countdown…

M&S always seems to be offering a 3 for £7 deal on their delicious little bits and bobs range which includes marinated artichokes too.

And whenever there is a handful of artichoke hearts in the fridge, I am compelled to make a Diana Dors Artichoke Bean Bowl.  It is out of my control.  It always happens.

I love this unusual combination of ingredients and it’s a very easy and satisfying salad to make for yourself.  Now I’ve been working from home for over a year and there is no sign of this changing any time soon, I hereby pledge to make a bit more effort with my lunches.  Toast or pot noodles have been the default for too long.

Summer is sort of still here in the UK and I feel some nice singletons salads coming on. I love Diana’s recipe because for some reason it just feels FANCY, plus you can feel virtuous because it is a DIET recipe, from her X-cel diet cookbook.  It’s definitely one of those recipes that are somehow greater than the sum of their parts.  If you want to know more about Diana’s diet and her appearances on TV-am with the Dors Dozen check out this link

You can prettify this salad up for a working from home lunch and feel like you are Deliciously Ella…

…rather than Deliciously Stella

for a change.

Looks as though Diana is having a glass of wine with hers, and I say, why not?!
