Dolly Parton Recipes

I was very sad to hear about Dolly this week, I have gathered together all the recipes I have for her in the collection in case anyone out there is planning a Dolly movie marathon this weekend.

9-5 (1980) is fabulous of course,

but I hear tell that Straight Talk (1992) is good too, I haven’t seen it but I plan to treat myself to it soon.

Straight Talk (1992)

Dolly is a big fave of mine and I have two stories

About 30 years ago, my friend Heather asked if I wanted to go and see Dolly live with her, and I said yes, but when I found out that tickets were £80 I freaked out a bit.  But it was worth every penny. She was AWESOME.

About 25 years ago I picked up a hitchhiker in the middle of nowhere in Wales who had a guitar on his back, and I was apologetic that I was listening to Dolly on my car cassette player, thinking it might not be seen as very cool.  He said in a broad Welsh accent, “Oh, I love Dolly, especially when she’s singing Jolene.” Which was a catchphrase for me for many years.

Here are the recipes I have from Dolly’s kitchen. There is a cookbook too if you can get your mitts on it.

Cheerio, Dolly – there’s so much love for you on this planet.
