I am only going to forgive Joan for her Almond Soup because she is wearing such a nice hat. What can I say about it without being rude? It was not to my taste is probably the best way of putting it.
Still, Gary C is in town tonight and I’ll be serving this up (as Joan suggests with a cheese straw and some almonds floating on top) as an appetizer. Let’s see what he makes of it.
PS – I must have been having an off-day. I liked it when I had it the second time! It’s strange but sort of elegant…

I can’t imagine almond soup. Probably not one for the book. But, oh, that hat! I love the dress too.
Hmm yes. The soup was not very appetising. Didn’t even get round to serving it up to my chum as we got drunk and ate out instead. It all went down the sink! Might try it again sometime though just so I can give an honest opinion. Might make it with veg stock rather than chicken stock to see if it works that way…

That’s so funny. I’ve had to do that with recipes on occasions. But I don’t know if veg stock can salvage this. It has to be one of Joan’s rare failures (if you don’t count marriages and parenting), or maybe it was a diet-option. After all, don’t starlets snack on almonds in between their salads and juice cleanses?
