Joan Crawford’s Nice Salad for a Squab Dinner

This is the first in a flurry of posts about Joan Crawford recipes ahead of the book launch – eek!  There are no food photos in the book, just pictures of the lovely Joan, so this is the place for them.

First here’s an easy fresh salad – just lettuce and mandarin orange slices – haven’t had these for years.  Served with “simple dressing” – in my case a made up vinegar / olive oil / grainy mustard one that was hanging around the fridge in a jam jar…  It was surprisingly lovely for something so simple.

I didn’t have a squab, although I am on the lookout for one…

The Joan Crawford Cookbook will be published on Saturday 8th November (see here for a sneaky peek).  I will be hosting a virtual reality cookalong, sending out recipes from the book to friends and fans of Joan all around the world.  If you’d like to participate please get in touch via the Contact Page or leave a comment below.  Absolutely everyone is invited!

Everyone who cooks a dish will be entered into a free draw to win a copy of the book and will be a Silver Screen Suppers friend for life!

I’m going for a haircut today.  Am rather loving Joan’s asymmetrical bob…
