I’m a sucker for any recipe that includes the word “supreme” in the title – it’s got to be good, right? This one was. The Savory Sauce was the kind of thing that has you smacking your lips for a good half an hour after dinner is done. Vinegar, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, garlic etc…. Mmmm – umami!
I am testing hamburger recipes for my next EatDrinkFilms article and this was a good one so the recipe will definitely be going in the article (I’ll put a link to it here when it appears…) Until then, here’s a photo of my patty.
Patty is not a word I think I have ever typed in my life before. A “hamburger patty” would never be something we’d say in the UK. We’d just call it a hamburger. Ah, the vagaries of the English language.
Puts me in mind of my taxi ride to the television studios today. I got myself in a right tizzy wondering whether the way I would normally say “lido” (as in an open air swimming pool) was correct. I looked it up on my phone and accidentally pressed a button that triggered a very loud woman’s voice suddenly saying LEE-DO in an otherwise silent cab.
I think under duress I still pronounced it LIE-DO. We shall see…
FYI, May is Hamburger month.
Hell yeah! That’s why I’m making so many – ha ha! My next post for EatDrinkFilms is designed to link to hamburger day – 28th May – yum yum!!
