Lana Turner’s Super and Easy Salsa

When I first started this blog way back in 2006 thought of it as an online diary.  I just recorded the movie star dishes I had tried, without sharing the recipe or even a photograph.  Remember the days when nobody took photos of their food?!

I am always happy to share recipes with readers, so if you find yourself reading an old post and there is no formula for the dish, do get in touch via the contact page or the comments as Imani recently did to ask for Lana’s recipe.  Here you go Imani, do let me know if you give this a whirl.

I have made this a few times and it is GOOD.  This request has prompted me to share all of the Lana recipes I have in the collection.  Firstly, Lana’s Scampi.  I wrote a lot about this recipe here because this is not scampi as we know it here in the UK!  Here’s how mine turned out.

Here’s the recipe as it appears in Supper with the Stars with your host Vincent Price,

the book I wrote with VP expert Peter Fuller.

The third recipe I have is this one, I haven’t tried it myself, so if you give it a whirl, do let me know how it turns out.

If you know of any other Lana favourites, do let me know and I’ll add them to this post!

  1. The scampi and salsa recipes sound delicious! That fruit salad dressing does give me pause, though. I feel like it’ll either be wonderful or taste very odd. 🙂 If I’m brave enough, I’ll try it and let you know the result!

    1. Yes, A! I agree with you, the salad dressing MIGHT be delicious, but it might not! Do report back if you give it a go, Lana would be proud of you…
