This might be my last post before Christmas so I hereby wish all my readers a fabulous festive season!
It was my birthday last week and look at the haul I got – haha!
Anyone would think I was writing a book about Murder, She Wrote!
The day after my fabulous birthday I was a little fragile. I opened the fridge and there was a bag of carrots and three tomatoes. This, to my mind, equals Vincent Price’s Carrot Soup.
It’s a bit of a favourite here at Silver Screen Suppers Towers. It’s so easy, and sooooo delicious. The tomatoes add a certain something to the mix and I now have a few wedges of this in my freezer for 2020 work lunches. Whoopee!
I’m still using up those pretzel bites!
Ohh, I’ve never seen this one before . Carrot and Coriander is one of my favourite soups ! Will definitely be making this soon !!!
This is SUCH a good carrot soup recipe, the tomatoes are the secret for sure. xx
Fun couple of hours in the kitchen this morning. Just made this in the soupmaker and have Greg’s ‘Horn and Hardart’s Burgundy Automat Bergundy Sauce with beef and noodles’ from his book in the slow cooker for tonight! The soup is predictably delicious . Did not have any fresh toms and didn’t want to open a whole can just to get a few out so used a big dessert spoon full of tomato paste and it has given it a lovely deep tomatoey flavour to carrots . Most excellent . And will be adding some sour cream when serving ! Thanks .
Oh LOVELY Mark, I am glad you gave the tomato laced carrot soup a whirl and thanks for sending over photos, looked FABULOUS. I think cooking lovely things for ourselves is going to be one of the key things that are gets us through the enforced hibernation ahead right?
Indeed . So good I just made another batch . This time with added red split lentils and fresh ginger to ward off colds and covid ! The beef was delicious too !
Cor! That sounds LOVELY! Mr R is not a fan of carrots but I LOVE THEM. I am planning to make lots of Tier 4 soup and this is gonna be on the list for sure!
