Happy New Year lovely readers!
Did anyone get this for Christmas?
It was such fun to be a small part of this excellent release of Vincent’s TV show. I’m in the extras chatting about Vincent’s food writing and demonstrating a couple of his creations.
If you can’t get enough of Vincent, do have a peek at this post on my Dinner and a Movie blog. There’s a recording of a fun interview with VP expert Peter Fuller (we wrote the Supper with the Stars book together) where we share our love of all things Vinnie.
Vincent is head and shoulders my favourite movie star chef so it seems fitting I should kick off a new year with one of his recipes. This is a bad photo of a good curry.
It’s the type of curry those of us who grew up in the 1970s know and love. It doesn’t blow your socks off, it’s a COMFORT CURRY. I bunged some green beans into the mix just because I had some that needed using up and well, greens!
A while ago, Peter and I put together a little video about Vincent and his love of curry, it’s a fun little ride…
Here’s the recipe, complete with curry stain! It’s very 1970s VESTA!
Here are all of Peter’s linky-links if you want more Vincent Price in your life.

Oh now here’s another one to try ! Having perfected Basil Rathbones Lamb curry so much that I am asked to do it for a dinner party at my brtohers place in france soon ! I am now going to have to give this a try. And yes the people I will be cooking it for very much much grew up in the seventies and know what that like when it comes to a simple curry ! I will report back as always.
Fantastic, Mark! Please do let me know what you think of it. I am stupidly fond of it. It’s mild, but delicious and has such 70s vibes. I love the idea that Basil Rathbone’s curry has been requested, he would be well chuffed!
Sadly I did not get the chance to cook fBR’s Lamb curry in the end but I’m going to pass the chicken curry recipe on to my brother in france. I’m sure he will love it, And did on my last day there this time manage to have my best cassoulet yet ! Absolutely scrummy and I’m heading right back there for more next I’m there !
Ooooh, cassoulet! I love it so much and haven’t had one for AGES! Vincent’s curry is so retro but so good!
