Vincent Price’s Crostata di Mele (Apple Tart)

I offered to teach Mr R to make pastry so that he could make the apple pie.  This is beginning to sound like some kind of Rom-Com isn’t it?  I do apologise for all the mentionitis over the last few posts but I am frankly still surprised that this geezer is still around.  Anyhow, it was fun, and his pie turned out mighty fine.  Mr R is a natural and he can come round to my place and make pies whenever he feels like it.  His pie was a marvel and utterly delicious.

The Crostada de Miel is a winner so I’m going to post the recipe here when I have a moment…  Click here for the recipe, it’s at the bottom of the post…

I think that is all from Vincent for a while.  Phew, I didn’t half enjoy celebrating his birthday with my new beau.

  1. No need to apologize.
We should not have to justify our enthusiasm over food and men. (Yes, I put food first.) They do make a fine pairing.
    Enjoy it!

Thanks for bringing Mr. Price into a whole new light for me.
Did you ever see him in The Whales Of August? With Lillian Gish and Bette Davis. Great film.

    1. Hi Lisa – oh I do love Vincent! Did you know that I cooked one Vincent Price recipe a week during the Vincentennial? I wrote about that here – he’s my FAVOURITE celebrity chef.

I haven’t seen The Whales of August – thanks to ebay though I will see it soon…

I am very ashamed of myself. There are two tins of Baxter’s Royal Game Soup with your name on under my desk. I WILL get around to posting it soon I promise. It will be winter again by the time you get it…
