    1. Hi Gill – I love the name of this recipe, will send it to you soon, no worries at all if you want to switch! Thanks for inviting me to participate in the Adoring Angela Lansbury blogathon – so much fun!!

I’ll do them before the cookalong though – I’m going away during that period!

  15. Hello! I’d like to try out Angela’s mustard vinaigrette, please. And this may be too left-field, but—I’m vegan, but I lovelovelove Martin Landau and would love to take a crack at a vegan version of his stew. Would that be okay?

    1. Hi Meghan – that would be great! My friend Helen created a vegan version of the Johnny Cash Chili for the Cooking With Columbo book and that was a great success so I’ll send both these recipes over to you very soon. For the cookalong I’ll just allocate the vinaigrette recipe to you but I’d love to see what you come up with for Martin’s recipe too!

  16. Oops, I failed to read to the end for instructions…

Madlyn Rhue’s Mousse Au Chocolat, if you would, please, Ms H!

It JUMPED off the screen at me 😉 xx

  17. Hi Jenny,

Kent and I would like to make:

    Robert Vaughn’s Mushroom Stuffed Zucchini
    David McCallum’s Irish Stew
    Lynn Redgrave’s Kedgeree

Hope 3 is not too many….. We know this is supposed to be about Murder, She Wrote, but we want to do our own little tribute to The Man from UNCLE by making Napoleon Solo’s and Illya Kuryakin’s recipes. Plus, we love kedgeree and are eager to see Lynn’s take on it.

    Cheers,
    S and K

    1. Susan! So pleased you are joining in! I will send all three of those recipes over to you soon, I LOVE the idea of your tribute! I’m going to allocate Lynn’s Kedgeree to you for purposes of the cookalong but I’ll be dying to hear how all three of these turn out!

  18. Hi! Can I please request Karen Black’s 10 Tomato Beef Chinese recipe if it hasn’t already been taken? I saw your talk about your last book in Southend last year and am inspired to try making a dish this time around!!

  19. Hey Jenny, wow! What a fab idea but what a huge list of recipes!

It was so hard to choose but in the end, the call of chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake was too hard to resist. But if anyone else wants it I’m also happy to do the gazpacho or the Golden Potato Salad.

    Taryn
    xx

    1. Taryn! Soooooo pleased you are joining in. Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake DEFINITELY has your name on it! Might take you up on the gazpacho and/or Golden Potato Salad at a later date but for now, get ready for CHOCOLATE OVERLOAD! Will be sending out the recipes very soon x

  20. Hey Jenny,

Not sure if you got my other response?
A wonderful idea and best of luck with the book!

The Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate cake was calling my name but equally happy to test out the gazpacho or the golden potato salad!

    Taryn
    xx

  21. Hi Jenny,
Last night I requested ‘Karen Black’s 10-Tomato-Beef-Chinese Number’ but I’m not sure if my comment went through (or it’s just hidden until approval) – I was looking at the website on my phone – so I’m just posting again to be on the safe side!
    Best Wishes, Sophia

  22. Annette! The Slumgullion is yours, I am resisting the temptation to google slumgullion, I have NO IDEA what it is! I’ll get the recipe over to your really soon xx

  23. Well I’m torn between going with a recipe based purely on it having a rude name (Jane Powell’s Saucy Pigs) or Joe Santos’ One Hot Italian Night because he sounds like a suave felly. Or do I go for Kathryn Grayson’s Baked Alaska as I’ve just eaten one in Austria and it was delicious, or David Soul’s China’s Snowballs because I’ve met him and he was a bit of a dish for an older man.
Could you send me any or all of those please Ms Artichoke. Ta very much. x

  24. Haha! Trust you Cotter! One Hot Italian Night and China’s Snowballs have already been nabbed for the cookalong but I’ll send you all four anyhow for your recipe collection. See which you like best out of the Saucy Pigs and the Baked Alaska for the cookalong.

TELL ME ALL about when you met David Soul!

    1. Cotter! Saucy Pigs have just been taken – I’m putting you down for the Baked Alaska. You are one of the few people I know who could tackle such a thing with aplomb!

  25. So much to choose fromm, I wish you could choose more than one, but I’ll do Jane Powell’s Saucy Pigs 🙂

  26. If they are still available could I take:
    – Angela Landsbury’s Angel Hair Pasta with Fresh Summer Tomatoes
    – Dack Rambo’s Lemon Supreme

Can you tell I’m already feelin the summer vibes!

    1. Tracy! Thanks for joining in the cookalong! Summer is coming for sure! I’ll send over the recipes soon. I’ve allocated you the Lemon Supreme for the cookalong but feel free to try both!

    1. Aw thanks Beth! The Peanut Butter Cookies are YOURS! Will send you the recipe early next week. MMMMmmmmm peanut butter cookies – yum!

      1. Hi Jenny, I see that my recipe is marked green as sent but I have scoured my email boxes and can’t find it. It’s very easy to miss my middle “C” initial in my email address– perhaps this is what happened?

        1. Hi Beth – I’ve just sent the peanut butter cookies recipe, let me know if you receive it OK, it’s making my stomach rumble just thinking about these cookies. I want one for breakfast!

    1. Timothy – the recipe is YOURS! I’m trying to come to one of your amazing Solve-along-a-Murder-She-Wrote events but I have three friends who just won’t let me go without them so we are just trying to find a date we can all do! Recipe coming to you very soon!

I would like to try Eleanor Parker’s bean soup if it has not been spoken for.

    1. Elizabeth! Eleanor’s bean soup is YOURS! I will send the recipe over to you in the next few days. Thanks for joining in – Jenny x

  50. Gale Storm’s French Brunch and/or Alan Hale’s Fresh Asparagus Tips
May I see the recipes before committing myself? :o) hee hee

  51. Hi! I just stumbled across your site and am so excited – I love Murder She Wrote SO much! I was looking through the list and wondered about a couple of recipes that are featured in episodes of the show that I didn’t see mentioned but think would be kind of perfect – a seafood chowder (featured in Who Threw the Barbitals in Mrs Fletcher’s Chowder), and an apple pie (Seth and Mort are often over at Jessica’s for pie)! So much fun!

    1. Hi Sherrie – thanks for those suggestions, there will be recipes for seafood chowder and apple pie in the book but the book is really focused on recipes are favourites of the movie stars who appeared in the show. I’ll send over the Apple Crisp recipe to you very soon! Thanks for volunteering! Jx

  52. Hi there! I just stumbled across this, fashionably late, as always! Is there still time to register?! If so, I’d love to make ‘Kathleen Beller’s Apple Pie with Cheese Crust’. It’s apple season around these parts! Thanks!

  53. Hi Jenny, I’d love to put my hand up for Gerald O’Loughlin’s easy Texas hash, and if it’s not too greedy, Lynda Day George’s fresh peach omelet as well. I’m so excited to be a part of this wonderful project! 😀 Cheers, Alison

    1. Hi Alison – thanks so much for volunteering! I’m happy for you to test both of those recipes and they will be winging their way to you sometime in the next few days – JX

    1. Harry! The Tige Andrews recipe will be winging its way to you soon. It’s ages since I looked at it so it will be as much as a delight to find out what it is for me, as it will be for you!! JX

  54. Hi from Berlin, Julia Campbell’s Spicy Black Beans attracts our attention. Is it without meat? Then we would be happy to test it.

    1. Hi Linda in Berlin! Yes, it’s a veggie recipe – whoopeeeee! I will send it over to you sometime in the next couple of days, thanks for volunteering! Jenny in London xx

    1. MJ! Yes, of course, the Nina Foch chicken recipe is yours, you will find redemption I am sure! I will send it over to you very soon.

  55. Hello hello! I am very interested in test cooking Angela Lansbury’s “Jessica’s Cheesecake” if it is still available! Who doesn’t love cheesecake?

(I tried to request it last night, but I’m unsure if I clicked submit. If I did request and this is a repeat tis better to have requested twice than never at all!)

Oh, and just yesterday I recommended your site to my mother-in-law, who loves classic cooking as much as I do! 🙂

  56. Yay! Hoorah Phoenix! Thank-you so much for the recommendation and thanks a million for volunteering to test the Angela Lansbury Cheesecake recipe. Sending this to you very soon. I LOVE CHEESECAKE TOO – and this is a great cheesecake recipe for sure. Jxx

  57. Hi there, just found your website courtesy of Dinner is Served 1972. I’ll probably go down a rabbit hole reading all your fun posts! Anyway, I would love to take Dack Rambo’s Lemon Supreme if it’s still up for grabs!

    1. Wonderful! Thanks Chris, I am a Dinner is Served 1972 superfan! Yes, Dack’s Lemon Supreme is yours for the testing. I will send you the recipe later today, thanks a million for volunteering – Jenny x

  58. Found your website via Instagram and fallen down a rabbit hole! I’d love to test cook something – Louis Herthum’s Cajun Red Beans and Rice?

  59. Yay Catherine, welcome to my warren! The Louis Herthum recipe is yours! I shall send it over to you shortly – Jenny x

    1. Aww thanks a million! I am excited about it too, it’s so much fun to write. Can I tempt you to test cook something?! Haha – I am so pushy! JX

  60. Hello! This is such a fun idea, and it’s fantastic you’re open to testers from all around! I’d be willing to test Hope Lange’s Cheese Ribbon Sandwich and/or Gloria Stuart’s Brownies.

I’m nearly sure I can manage a cheese sandwich recipe…

  61. Haha – thanks VT! Will send these recipes over to you soon so you can have a peruse. This cheese sandwich is no ordinary sandwich – haha!

    1. I look forward to seeing everything whenever you’re able to send them along.

I just hope that me and my small town grocery store will be up to the challenge of an extra-ordinary sandwich!

  62. I would love to see recipes for the dishes mentioned at the beginning of s05e13 – Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble.

    “Molly’s making brownies, Dora Prouty’s tuna-noodle bake, uh, your seafood-rice dish and Mildred’s pigs-in-blankets.”

I’m most interested in Dora Prouty’s tuna-noodle bake and the seafood-rice dish.

    1. Hi there and thanks for dropping by! Oh how I would love the recipe for Dora Prouty’s tuna-noodle bake too! The recipes I’m including in the Murder, She Cooked book will all (apart from one) be recipes that the actors and actresses supplied to cookbooks and magazines as their favourite things to make. For Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble the recipe will be Roddy McDowall’s poached pears. Here’s a tiny preview of something I wrote for this episode guide, “We get a hint about one of Jessica’s signature dishes at the beginning of this episode as we hear that she’ll be taking her “Seafood Rice Dish” for the Garden Club’s Casserole Dinner. So if you have a Seafood Rice Dish recipe up your sleeve, why not rustle that up to have before Roddy’s poached pears?” Ooh, just writing this is making me hungry. The one dish that isn’t officially a favourite of one of the stars of the show I’ll be including is an imagining of how Jessica might have made her signature clam chowder x

      1. I can’t wait for the clam chowder recipe. I’ll have to keep looking for the others. I can’t wait for the cookbook to come out!

  63. Oh my, what is this I see? A blueberry pancake recipe? Me! Me!

I’d also be interested in testing the creole rice recipe!

  64. Do you still need someone to test the avocado-sauerkraut recipe? I could give that a try.

Also, would it be possible for you to send me the soup recipe from Frank Lovejoy?

  65. I am now waiting for an avocado to ripen on my counter.

And the Frank Lovejoy recipe, my gosh. It is not so delicious, is it?! Not even after I added a bunch of stuff to it!

    But it was cheap!

And interesting, in a slightly terrifying way.

  66. Haha, I should have asked you to test the Frank Lovejoy recipe for the Vincent Price book, VT. “Interesting, in a slightly terrifying way.” is the perfect summing up for that recipe! Hope that you enjoy the avocado with sauerkraut – it’s become quite a favourite at my place for a quick and delicious working from home lunch xx
