The Ann Sheridan Cocktail

Oh auspicious day!  Firstly I went to the bfi to be filmed talking about NEWTS for a television programme.  Then I got my tax return filed a week early.  Then I finally took the plunge and sent my book proposal to Unbound.  Ooh, I am so excited.  I do so hope that they like it.

I am getting superstitious and I had one hand on Vincent and Mary Price’s Treasury of Great Recipes as I pressed the “send” button and I toasted the proposal on its journey with an Ann Sheridan Cocktail.  All my fingers and toes are crossed.

Here’s the scoop on the Ann Sheridan Cocktail:

2/3 oz Bacardi white rum
1/3 oz Orange Curacao liqueur
3/4 oz lime juice
Pour the Bacardi rum, orange curacao and lime juice into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime wedge, and serve.  Yum!

The weirdest thing about getting my tax return in early is that I have an unexpected weekend at my disposal.  Shall I invite one of my beaus over?  What would Ann do?

    1. Thanks Brenda – I only have two of those glasses and one has a crack in it so I always take that one myself if I have company! Can’t bear to get rid of it but know I should…

    1. Thanks Sally! I was talking about a film from the early 1930s called “Romance in a Pond” all about newts. Such is the life of a film archivist!
