Bette Davis’ Marmalade

Still time to enter my competition.  Prize?  A jar of Bette Davis Marmalade made by yours truly. All you have to do is answer this multiple choice question.  You can email me or put your choice in a comment.  Closing date Monday 31st October at midnight.  Overseas readers welcome to enter – I’ll find a plastic container if it has to travel…

Which of these did Bette Davis say was her favourite breakfast fodder:

1 – Finnan Haddie
2 – Kedgeree
3 – English Muffins

I’m going to be hibernating in November as I am participating in NaNoWriMo. I’ll be attempting to write 50,000 words in a month, like many other folk.  So cooking will take a bit of a back seat but I plan to write up some of the test cook reports you lovely people have sent to me in the past.  There is quite a backlog so plenty to choose from!

I’m going to try not to let cooking be my major procrastination tool, but I will still be trying to make one Vincent Price recipe per week over at the Vincentennial Cookblog.  Actually, I’m going to ask a few special people to cook a Vincent Price recipe FOR me.  I’ll get them in my kitchen, hand them a copy of The Treasury of Great Recipes and leave them to it!

  1. I believe the fabulous Miss Davis preferred Finnan Haddie. If I had actually checked my e-mail like a responsible grown-up, I’d have known about this competition before today…

Hope you’re having a great weekend!!!

    1. Aw poop. I have only just picked up your message Lauren and the prize has been awarded to the lovely Ms Julie Winfield. However, between you and me – and everyone else that reads this blog – you and Julie are the only 2 people to have entered my competition so YOU WIN TOO! I shall be in touch when I have made the marmalade and you can let me know where to send it! Ha ha – I feel like a despot. It is my competition and I can move the goalposts! Jx
