Recipe of the Month – Rhonda Fleming’s English Trifle

Aw, the Royal Wedding was LOVELY!   Such a treat to have an extra day off work and I made the most of it by taking a Rhonda Fleming English Trifle out to Leigh-on-Sea.  My mum always makes trifle for big family get-togethers so it felt like the right thing to do.

Had a truly fabulous day with my gorgeous friends and scoffed a LOT of cake and trifle.  Rhonda’s Trifle is the recipe of the month and I’m just editing the demonstration video that will go out with the newsletter tomorrow.  I have learned a big lesson, I shouldn’t try and make a demonstration video whilst drunk.  You’ll see why…  I ended up with a sort of “comedy trifle”.  I am reluctant to put a photo on the flickr site as I used red and blue M&Ms and they sort of bled colour into the cream overnight so it looked kind of crazy.

It was a bit like a trifle Tracey Emin might have made.  Modern art.  Here’s a picture of what Rhonda’s trifle SHOULD look like!  Oh and OK then, here is the Royal Wedding version – ha ha!  MELTED!

  1. I bet the trifle was still yummy! I’m going to look at the video soon. Trifle is one of my favourite things and it always looks a bit messy once you start to eat it.

Did you dress up or wear a hat for your wedding party?

    1. Oh yes! Very messy and very yummy. I did indeed dress up. I was basing my look on Princess Margaret at her holiday home in Mustique – a rather lovely full length Hawaiian number with flourescent orange crysanthemums and a TIARA.
