It’s Vincent Price’s birthday today so here’s one from the archives, I was SO YOUNG! No grey hair, a great set of spex that I no longer wear because my eyesight has got worse and some fab dungarees I can no longer squeeze into. Oh, the passage of time!
Great chowder recipe though, and I’m much better at skinning fish now. I still take the Mickey out of the way Mr R pronounces parsley as if it has a Z in it.
If you love Vincent (as I do) and you want to cook more of his recipes, may I suggest…
Great gift for the Vincent Price fan in your life or as a treat for yourself! For now though, here’s his chowder recipe.
Excuse my scribbles! This note was from way back in 2011 when I set myself the challenge of cooking or eating 100 Vincent Price dishes during the Vincentennial Year. I did it too! Here’s a link to the post about the night Corinna cooked this – YUM!
Oh, how i love a chowder, especially one by VP. Still have fond memories of clam chowder in San Francisco served in a halved and hollowed out sour bread bowl, when the chowder was gone you ate the bowl, How’s that for a no waste meal ?
Man, I LOVE THAT! One of the best things I was ever presented with at a meal was a small loaf of bread that had been hollowed out and filled with PICKLES. I was in heaven.
